Cancer ABCs is Partnering with Man Cave Health

Man Cave Health (www.ManCaveHealth.org) is driven by the notion that “men take better care of their cars than they do their bodies.” Inspired by the simple fact that there are approximately 3.7 billion men in the world and that they will die almost five years earlier than women because they are less likely to seek preventive care for themselves, Man Cave Health lead by Tom Milana, Jr. has begun to changing men’s attitudes towards their healthcare.

Cancer ABCs is proud to be partnering with this most remarkable organization.  Their goals include breaking the silence surrounding sensitive health topics for men and finding innovative ways to encourage men to learn about their health and then act to protect themselves.

A Revolutionary Approach

The Man Cave is a unique patient care model that combines educational resources, emotional support, and the latest medical technology.  They are creating sports-themed facilities where men can feel at ease, complete with a team of friends, medical professionals, educators, and advocates ready to help them take control of their healthcare journey.

Man Cave is making it more comfortable for men to go to the doctor by replacing the traditional, clinical setting with a more masculine décor which includes memorabilia from local sports teams, flat-screened televisions, leather seating and coffee bars. Man Caves are places where men come to be educated about their health and then are supported as they take action to protect their health.

On June 10, 2019, Man Cave Health will be sponsoring a fund-raising outing at Fresh Meadows Country Club (https://milanafamilyfoundation.org/annual-golf-event/sweepstakes/).  As a part of their auction, they will be holding a raffle which includes many items such as golf outings at premier private golf clubs, an in-home wine tasting, two orchestra seat tickets to Jerry Steinfeld and an opportunity to have a Maserati while you go on an overnight getaway. https://milanafamilyfoundation.org/annual-golf-event/sweepstakes/

Man Cave will also be sponsoring a community health day on Sunday, September 28 at the Salem United Methodist Church at 2190 Adam Clayton Powell.  Free PSA tests will be offered.  Additionally, blood pressure screenings, HIV testing, and counseling might also be provided.

Cancer ABCs encourages you to go to the Man Cave web site, join them for golf, purchase a raffle ticket, and get a PSA test.
